Oblong rubber grommets fit elongated openings where a wire route needs a rubber interface along the panel edge. The custom profile should follow the straight portions and curved ends of the cutout while accommodating the wires passing through it. Length, width, and retaining groove dimensions need to be coordinated with the finished panel.
An elongated opening can give wiring more room in one direction, but the grommet still needs even support around the perimeter. Do not pull the rubber along its long axis to compensate for an oversized cutout. Check the curved ends and the less visible side of the retaining lip after fitting, then inspect again once the wire route is secured.
Select the bore arrangement for the actual wire bundle and its approach to the panel. A sharp bend immediately at the exit can pull the grommet away from the edge it is meant to cover. Material and hardness should suit the surrounding exposure and installation access. Keep the panel edge smooth and remove debris before assembly so that the rubber and wire jacket do not trap abrasive particles between them.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Length, width, and retaining groove dimensions need to be coordinated with the finished panel. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
