Selected for the contact, temperature and movement
Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
Black seal stoppers can close matching holes while keeping the finished appearance consistent with a dark surrounding component. The seating boundary still needs to be easy to inspect, especially where the stopper and housing have similar colors. Select a profile that allows the intended insertion position to be checked without relying only on how tightly the part feels during fitting.
The opening diameter, depth, and edge shape determine the contact region. Match the selected compound to the actual medium and temperature, and assess water resistance on the finished closure under the exposure it will face. A securely held plug is only one part of that sealing arrangement.
Clean the contact surfaces before insertion and avoid trapping a folded edge beneath the exposed head. Keep enough access for removal using the intended handling method. During service, look for nicks, embedded dirt, or persistent deformation along the contact band. If the stopper no longer returns to its intended shape, replace it before relying on the closure again.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The opening diameter, depth, and edge shape determine the contact region. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
