A solid tapered rubber plug closes an opening without a central passage. Its silicone body engages the receiving surface along the taper, and its dimensions can be customized to the opening and available depth. The usable contact region should be established as part of the design so that insertion is repeatable.
Consider how the installer recognizes the final position. A visible height or a defined upper seating relationship can make placement more consistent than pushing until the plug merely feels tight. The taper must leave enough material outside the opening for the planned removal method. Excessive depth can make removal difficult and place contact on an unintended part of the profile.
Keep the body solid when that is the intended closure arrangement. Cutting a hole or trimming the end changes the geometry and may affect the way the part seats. Select the silicone formulation for the actual environment, then assess the fitted part with the finished opening surface. After removal, inspect the taper for uneven contact marks or damage before any intended reuse.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. Excessive depth can make removal difficult and place contact on an unintended part of the profile. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
