Match the attachment and installation method
Silicone rubber hole plugs close a custom opening with a molded body and a head or stopping surface adapted to the surrounding part. They can be configured for a small recessed hole, a larger panel opening, or another defined closure location. The finished geometry should establish where the rubber contacts the opening and where installation movement stops.
The exposed head receives most handling, but the less visible body is just as important. Scratches, embedded particles, or a folded section beneath the head can disrupt the intended contact. Keep the plug interior and mating opening clean during assembly, and apply fitting pressure to the designed installation surface. A sharp tool pressed into the rubber can create damage that remains hidden once the plug is installed.
Custom size, color, and hardness allow the part to match its location. For a cap style, define the external profile being covered rather than copying dimensions from an inserted plug. Where sealing against a specific exposure is required, assess the chosen silicone formulation and installed fit under those actual conditions.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The finished geometry should establish where the rubber contacts the opening and where installation movement stops. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
