Product Overview

Silicone colored plugs give an opening a recognizable closure while allowing its shape, hardness, and size to be adapted to the equipment. Different colors can help distinguish neighboring ports or separate assembly versions. The identifying color is most useful when it accompanies a clearly defined fit: two plugs that look alike may still require different insertion depths or shoulder positions.

Consider how the plug will be handled throughout use. A closure removed regularly needs an accessible gripping area, whereas an enclosed assembly may place greater importance on keeping the head within the surrounding profile. The portion inside the opening must seat without folding, and the visible head should not conceal incomplete insertion. Color selection can be coordinated with the equipment appearance or a consistent port identification scheme.

For a sealing application, establish the actual contact medium and operating conditions before selecting the silicone formulation. Keep the mating surface free from trapped particles, and inspect the stem after removal from a tight opening. A bright exterior makes identification easier; it does not compensate for damage to the contact surface.

Material options
Custom silicone compound; formulation and geometry developed together.
Hardness selection
Silicone options: 20–80 Shore A. The portion inside the opening must seat without folding, and the visible head should not conceal incomplete insertion.

Color & OEM
Custom colors; OEM identification positioned outside closure contact surfaces.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
