Product Overview
Small rubber cable grommets can be molded for compact openings where standard profiles do not fit the available space. The selected configuration should match the intended role: a closed center for blanking or a designed passage for wiring. Both the outer seat and the center need to be defined for the assembly.
In a small part, minor dimensional differences can affect whether the retaining lip seats fully. Check the finished opening and wall thickness, including any coating. Also establish how a wire or connector will be introduced if the part is used as a cable entry.
Clean the opening and avoid sharp tools against the rubber during fitting. Inspect the perimeter under good lighting, looking for a folded lip or exposed edge. Keep a blanking center intact when it is closing an unused hole. For a cable configuration, route the wire without pulling the small insert sideways and check the fit after the housing is closed. Service work that moves the wire should be followed by another seating inspection.
