Product Overview

Sealing silicone ring bands can be configured around the circumference of a matching component. Their elastic fit may help hold a position, but a sealing application also requires a continuous contact path and suitable compression. The shape of the surrounding joint determines whether a band acts mainly as a retaining loop or as an active sealing element.

Define the relaxed size, section, and installed stretch with that function in mind. A thin loop pulled over a large diameter changes its contact differently from a broader ring seated in a shallow recess. If the band passes over a flange during assembly, account for that temporary extension as well as its final working diameter.

Keep the band untwisted when positioning it, especially if its section is not circular. Inspect for trapped particles along the contact path before the joint is put into use. Where sealing is required, assess leakage on the complete assembly under the intended conditions. Replace bands that no longer recover their useful shape rather than tightening them through improvised attachment methods.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Define the relaxed size, section, and installed stretch with that function in mind.
Custom dimensions
Keep the band untwisted when positioning it, especially if its section is not circular.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
