Product Overview

A custom neoprene buffer supplies a rubber contact surface at a defined automotive interface. The compression-molded geometry should preserve the intended gap when the adjoining component reaches its working position. The buffer's exposed height is therefore linked to the complete assembly rather than selected in isolation.

Fit the part fully into its seat before assessing the gap. A partially engaged retaining feature can make the buffer stand too high and prevent the assembly from reaching its intended position. The contact surface should approach the rubber naturally without forcing it sideways. Check surrounding edges for features that could cut the part during repeated movement.

Select the compound for the actual automotive location and its local exposure. For replacement work, compare the hidden engagement details as well as the visible face. If the gap remains wrong after a correctly fitted replacement, inspect the adjoining alignment instead of trimming the buffer. Altering its height can change the contact relationship that the molded part was intended to establish.

Material options
Neoprene compound options, customized alongside the profile and contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Solid rubber options: 30–90 Shore A. Compare the material's deformation at hidden engagement features as well as at the visible bumper face.
Custom geometry
Fit the part fully into its seat before assessing the gap.
Fit evaluation
Check surrounding edges for features that could cut the part during repeated movement.
Color & OEM
Custom colors; part identification clear of mounting seats and loaded faces.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
