Match the attachment and installation method
Silicone rubber stopper feet associated with an 8 mm dimension should be developed around their actual automotive mounting role. A stopper foot may close an opening, provide a contact point or combine those functions in a specific design. Define that duty before treating the nominal size as a complete specification.
Custom dimensions, hardness and color can match the assembly. Identify the feature represented by 8 mm and establish the remaining body, head and retention geometry. The selected silicone formulation should suit the local temperature, fluids and contact conditions.
Check the part in the completed receiving component. The head should sit at its intended height and the mounting portion should remain secure without excessive stretching. If it serves as a contact foot, evaluate the opposing surface and available compression separately from its fit in the hole. During maintenance, inspect both the exposed face and hidden retaining region. A worn head or loose stem can change function in different ways, so replacement should restore the developed configuration rather than merely match the visible diameter.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A stopper foot may close an opening, provide a contact point or combine those functions in a specific design. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
