Custom adhesive rubber pads can provide a cushioning interface in an assembly intended to absorb contact or shock. The rubber and adhesive need to work together: the pad should receive force through its designed contact area without that force peeling the backing away.
ETOL offers changes to size, structure, compound, hardness and color. Establish the movement that brings the mating parts together and the surface available for bonding. A pad receiving a glancing contact may experience different attachment demands from one compressed squarely.
Apply the chosen backing to a prepared surface and allow its required bond development. Observe the first contact cycles at a controlled pace, looking for sliding, an edge rolling upward or rubber pushed beyond the supporting area. Evaluate the intended cushioning function in the complete assembly. During servicing, inspect the bond as well as the exposed rubber. Correct the direction or location of contact if repeated movement displaces the pad, and fit a replacement only after residue and the underlying cause have been addressed.
