An Abrasion-resistant Rubber Grommet places rubber between a wire and a potentially damaging panel edge. Its purpose is to reduce direct contact with the cut surface as the wire passes through the opening. This custom component is especially relevant when an existing cable route shows localized scuffing at the panel.
Look at the wear pattern before selecting a replacement. A mark on one side may point to a tight bend, while damage around several sides can suggest that the wire moves freely within an oversized entry. The rubber profile should suit the opening, and the cable route should prevent unnecessary rubbing against even a protected edge.
Custom dimensions should account for both panel thickness and finished cable size. Excessive tightness can increase pressure on the insulation.
Remove burrs before inserting the grommet, then secure the cable in its intended position. Recheck after normal handling to see whether the rubber has shifted. A torn or deeply worn liner should be renewed before the exposed edge begins contacting the wire again.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The rubber profile should suit the opening, and the cable route should prevent unnecessary rubbing against even a protected edge. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
