A custom adhesive backed rubber pad follows a mounting area that may not suit a standard round or square piece. Its silicone outline and thickness can be developed around the product's contact region, nearby features, and available clearance. The bonded area should be defined on the actual mounting surface rather than its overall visual footprint.
Check for recesses, ribs, or texture beneath the pad. These features can leave parts of the adhesive unsupported even when the rubber covers them. Select the adhesive for the base material and service conditions, then prepare the surface and apply the pad according to that adhesive's requirements. Accurate placement helps keep edges away from locations where they can be caught or lifted.
Evaluate the finished assembly for the intended contact role. A pad used as a support, spacer, or cushioning layer needs dimensions appropriate to that role. Keep the working face clean and inspect the bond if the pad shifts. Replacement should restore the original mounting condition with the correct outline, thickness, and adhesive configuration rather than cover unsuitable residue with another pad.
