An Adhesive Backing Pad attaches a silicone rubber contact layer to a prepared surface. For a broad pad, alignment before contact helps avoid repeated lifting that can stretch the rubber or contaminate portions of the exposed adhesive.
Establish the required footprint and any neighboring features that must remain clear. The substrate should support the adhesive face rather than leaving it to bridge a recess or unsupported opening.
Prepare the mounting area and position the pad according to the selected backing's application requirements. Keep fingers and loose particles away from the bond surface. After allowing the required bond development, check the loaded contact region for uneven compression or an edge beginning to peel. During maintenance, inspect around the perimeter, especially where cleaning tools or handled objects may catch it. Replace a lifted pad on a properly cleaned surface instead of repeatedly reseating a dirty section. If alignment is consistently difficult, revise the application access or outline before repeating the same fit.
