Anti vibration grommets introduce a flexible interface at a specified opening or mounting point. When the same part is also intended for a high-temperature location, material selection must account for both exposure and the required mechanical behavior. Neither requirement should be inferred from the other.
Define the way the assembly moves and identify the surfaces that contact the rubber. Check for a rigid component bypassing the flexible section or limiting its intended movement. Then establish the local temperature conditions, including any operating state that differs from normal steady use.
ETOL can customize geometry, compound and hardness to the application. Evaluate the sample in the assembled equipment so heating, loading and clearances are represented together. A soft feel at room temperature is not a quantified vibration-performance result.
During servicing, inspect for permanent compression, cracks and movement at the retaining features. Compare the condition around the whole part, especially near an offset load or local heat source. If performance changes, review the complete contact arrangement rather than increasing compression or choosing a different material without checking the other requirement.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. If performance changes, review the complete contact arrangement rather than increasing compression or choosing a different material without checking the other requirement. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
