An anti vibration rubber buffer provides a flexible contact element where a component approaches a support or stop. Its effectiveness depends on where contact occurs and how much movement remains after contact begins. A buffer placed too late in the travel may leave little useful deformation before another hard surface is reached.
Consider the path of the moving component and the available space at the contact point. The rubber face should meet the intended surface without catching an edge or being scraped sideways. The mounting structure also needs to support the contact force without shifting the buffer out of alignment over repeated cycles.
Evaluate the assembly at its relevant operating movements, including any variation in approach position. Look for contact marks concentrated on one small area, which may indicate misalignment rather than an unsuitable overall buffer size. Routine inspection should include the support fixing and the surrounding clearances, not just the exposed rubber. A lasting change in shape can move the contact point and allow hard parts to meet sooner than they did when the buffer was first installed.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The effectiveness depends on where contact occurs and how much movement remains after contact begins. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose hemispherical, tapered or recessed rubber feet and compare the mounting dimensions. All values are in millimeters. Use the drawing labels for each product; a dash marks a dimension not supplied in the source.
12 sizes for recessed rubber feet, including flat and rounded bases. The Base column identifies the lower-edge style. C is recess depth; the appearance rendering shows a rounded-base example.
