Rubber damper feet with screw connections need a fastening arrangement that leaves the flexible section free to work within its intended range. The screw should secure the support without forcing the rubber to twist into alignment. Check the thread interface, installed height, and load direction alongside the surrounding equipment base.
Define the supported mass and how it is distributed among the feet. Allow clearance for relevant movement and keep adjacent hardware from creating rigid contact around the rubber. The compound should suit the actual temperature and substances at the mounting location.
Install with mating features aligned before tightening. Assess the complete equipment through its operating conditions, including startup and stopping where motion changes. Cables, pipes, or other connections may transfer force around the flexible supports and should be included in that assessment.
During maintenance, inspect screw security and rubber condition separately. Uneven compression, cuts near the attachment, or contact marks on nearby metal can indicate a loading or clearance problem. Correct that condition before replacement rather than tightening farther against the rubber or selecting a taller foot to hide the mismatch. The support set should return to its intended height and load distribution after service.
