A large rubber waterproof grommet needs its full perimeter seated correctly in the intended opening. Custom dimensions can adapt the retaining profile and passage to the assembly. The size makes access and installation sequence useful considerations, particularly where the rear of the opening becomes difficult to reach later.
Check the cutout shape, panel thickness, and available space on both sides. A broad flexible component can appear seated from one angle while part of the rear lip remains folded. Plan how the entire perimeter will be inspected before nearby equipment is installed.
Route the cable or other intended component without pulling the grommet sideways. Support it according to the assembly design, then recheck the retained edge. Water protection should be assessed on the complete fitted interface under its intended conditions, including other surrounding joints. During maintenance, inspect for displacement and wear around the passage. Replace a damaged part with the matching geometry rather than forcing a similarly sized grommet into an opening with a different retaining profile.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. A broad flexible component can appear seated from one angle while part of the rear lip remains folded. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
