A large rubber grommet needs a retaining profile matched to the panel opening and enough surrounding support to remain seated. The greater perimeter can make a partially engaged section less obvious, particularly when the cable or harness hides the rear face. The installation sequence should allow the full edge to be checked.
Buna N, also known as NBR, is associated with this automotive product, with custom material and dimensional options available. Select the formulation for the actual fluids, temperature and cable jacket. Define the panel thickness and cable passage separately from the overall outside size.
During fitting, engage the perimeter progressively without overstretching one section. Check both faces before the harness supports are secured, then inspect again for sideways pull from the final route. The grommet should not carry unnecessary harness weight. During service, examine the less visible groove area for cuts or displacement. A large intact front flange can conceal damage underneath, so assess the complete retaining interface before deciding that the part can remain in use.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The greater perimeter can make a partially engaged section less obvious, particularly when the cable or harness hides the rear face. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
