A closed silicone rubber grommet covers a blanking hole without a through-passage for a cable. The center and retaining edge work together to close the opening, while the flexible material permits fitting to the intended panel seat. The custom dimensions need to follow the actual hole profile and panel thickness.
Consider access for removal if the opening may be used during servicing. The grommet should remain securely seated in ordinary use but should be handled through its intended edge rather than pierced through the center. A damaged center no longer provides the same blanking function. The available space behind the panel should also allow the retaining profile to sit without interference.
Choose the compound around the local exposure and the surfaces it contacts. During installation, clear the opening of sharp burrs and trapped debris, then inspect for a lifted section around the perimeter. The complete assembly determines any sealing requirement. Replace a cut or distorted blank with the correct profile rather than using extra pressure to hold a damaged part in place.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The center and retaining edge work together to close the opening, while the flexible material permits fitting to the intended panel seat. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
