Closed oval grommets cover elongated panel openings with a flexible center membrane. They are useful where the panel has a cutout but no cable needs to pass through that position. The oval flange finishes the edge, and the groove locates the cover in the panel thickness.
When replacing an existing part, examine both the membrane and the retaining perimeter. A punctured center and a loose groove are different problems: the first may involve contact from something behind the panel, while the second calls for checking the opening and seating dimensions. Matching only the visible outline can miss either issue.
Measure the cutout on both axes and check clearance behind the closed section. Press the replacement into place without using a pointed tool against the membrane, then inspect the curved ends for incomplete seating. If the cover repeatedly moves, check for burrs or a mismatch between groove width and panel thickness.
Custom compounds and profiles are available through ETOL. Keep the center intact unless a different cable-entry design has been specified; cutting a hole changes the part's intended blanking function.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The oval flange finishes the edge, and the groove locates the cover in the panel thickness. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
