Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
A silicone spill stopper fits into a matching opening to restrict an unwanted escape path. The plug's contact profile should correspond to the neck or port being closed, while the exposed portion needs enough room for controlled removal. A stopper driven too deeply may become difficult to retrieve even if it initially feels secure.
Consider the liquid, temperature, and pressure condition of the actual application. Vacuum service introduces a pressure difference across the closure, so retention and sealing must be evaluated together in that direction. Color can assist identification where several plug sizes are used, but the correct fit should still be determined from dimensions and contact geometry.
Seat the plug on clean surfaces without using sharp tools against the silicone. Before opening a system with a pressure difference, return it to the appropriate safe condition for that equipment. Inspect the lip and contact band after removal; nicks or embedded particles can create a path through an otherwise well fitting closure. Keep replacement plugs protected from distortion during storage.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The plug's contact profile should correspond to the neck or port being closed, while the exposed portion needs enough room for controlled removal. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
