Neoprene bushings can provide a protective rubber interface where a cable or component passes through a constrained mounting area. The molded part should be evaluated in its compressed installation shape, not only as a loose component. Pressure from the surrounding seat can change the bore and shift the contact toward one side.
Custom dimensions and color options allow the bushing to follow the mounting arrangement. Establish which surfaces are intended to retain the part and which should remain free to flex. If a cover or washer compresses the rubber, its contact area and final position need to be coordinated with the molded profile.
During fitting, tighten the assembly in the intended sequence and then check cable freedom. A bushing that accepts the cable easily before closure may grip it excessively afterward. Select the neoprene compound for the actual exposure conditions and expected deformation. Inspect the part after disassembly for a persistent fold or extrusion mark; these can indicate that the seat is concentrating compression rather than distributing it as intended. Correcting the seat geometry may be more useful than changing only the bore diameter.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Pressure from the surrounding seat can change the bore and shift the contact toward one side. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
