An automotive rubber cable grommet needs clearly defined mounting and cable dimensions. The 16 mm size associated with this product should be tied to the intended feature before manufacture or selection, since a cable bore, panel hole and outside flange are different measurements. Custom geometry allows those interfaces to be specified independently.
For the cable passage, use the finished jacket or harness dimensions. For the panel, include wall thickness and the finished edge condition. Check the installed shape after the harness is clipped into position, because an offset route can distort a correctly sized bore.
Where conductive behavior is required, establish the electrical function and evaluate the selected rubber formulation in the finished assembly. Do not substitute a general rubber compound based solely on matching appearance or dimensions. The design also needs to maintain the intended separation between neighboring electrical features.
Identify visually similar variants clearly during assembly. After fitting, inspect the retaining lip and confirm that the cable is not trapped against the panel edge. Any later change to compound or cable size should prompt a review of both the mechanical fit and the required electrical behavior.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. For the panel, include wall thickness and the finished edge condition. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
