Product Overview

A Conductive silicone rubber keypad combines a flexible user surface with a contact arrangement intended to work with the matching circuit. The conductive features beneath the keys must meet their corresponding board areas in the assembled position.

Define the circuit contact pattern, locating features and key travel together. A visible key can be centered in its panel opening while the underside is offset from the intended contact. Keep the keypad's support and retention geometry consistent with the electronics layout.

During assembly, protect the underside from dust, grease and handling residue. Place the keypad without stretching its web and inspect alignment before the housing conceals it. Check the electrical response using the completed circuit rather than judging actuation from the feel of the rubber alone.

Compare the response with the board supported as it will be in the product. A board that bends during a bench check can conceal an incorrect resting clearance or change the travel needed for contact, so the support arrangement belongs in the evaluation.

Press each key from its normal operating direction, then release it slowly and quickly to assess return. The housing should not keep a contact engaged at rest or force one side of a key into continual compression. During service, clean only with methods compatible with the chosen contact construction. Replace damaged contact features or torn webs through the intended assembly process instead of adding an improvised conductive layer that changes the contact geometry and response.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Press each key from its normal operating direction, then release it slowly and quickly to assess return.
Custom dimensions
A visible key can be centered in its panel opening while the underside is offset from the intended contact.
Fit & assembly
The conductive features beneath the keys must meet their corresponding board areas in the assembled position.
Use & inspection
Replace damaged contact features or torn webs through the intended assembly process instead of adding an improvised conductive layer that changes the contact geometry and response.

04

Produce & inspect

Manufacture and check against the approved requirements

Review the intended assembly

Working conditions

Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.

Material and structure

Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.

Installation

Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
