A wire harness grommet at an automotive door provides a molded interface where wiring crosses the receiving opening. The custom profile should match the door-side geometry and the intended harness route. Door movement makes the relationship between the entry, free cable length, and nearby supports especially important.
Check the harness through the door's intended range of movement. The cable should not become taut at one position or collect in a sharp bend at another. The grommet needs to remain seated while the surrounding wiring follows its designed path. Any sleeve or adjoining protective component should be coordinated with that movement rather than treated as a separate fit.
Measure the opening and finished wall thickness, then fit the rubber into a clean, deburred seat. Secure the harness supports and inspect the entry at the relevant door positions before surrounding trim conceals it. Select the compound for the actual vehicle exposure conditions. Any required water protection or movement life belongs to the complete assembly and must be established for that design. During servicing, recheck the route after connector or trim work, looking for trapped wires, lifted edges, or localized wear. Correct a routing problem before replacing damaged rubber so the new part is not repeatedly loaded in the same way.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Door movement makes the relationship between the entry, free cable length, and nearby supports especially important. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
