Closed rubber cable grommets can be customized for a housing entry with the center configuration needed by the assembly. An unused opening needs an intact closure, while a protected wiring route needs its own formed passage or sleeve. The molded design should establish that role before the housing is assembled.
For a sleeve arrangement, consider the direction the cable takes immediately beyond the wall. The extension needs enough room to follow the route without folding against a connector or bracket. The panel seat must remain engaged while the cable is supported in its final position.
Check the opening dimensions and wall thickness, then fit the rubber without trapping wires beneath the retaining edge. Do not create a cable passage by cutting a blanking center unless the component was specifically designed for that conversion. Inspect the entry after closing nearby covers and securing the harness. Service work that moves the wiring can alter the sleeve position, so recheck the route and seating whenever the assembly is disturbed.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. An unused opening needs an intact closure, while a protected wiring route needs its own formed passage or sleeve. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
