Match the attachment and installation method
A push through grommet is installed by moving its retaining section through a compatible opening until the intended locating features engage. The insertion action and the final fit are separate checks: easy movement through the hole does not necessarily mean the part has reached its correct position.
Inspect the panel edge and compare its thickness with the groove. Identify which shoulder or flange should remain on each side after assembly. Access behind the opening may be needed to check that the lip has recovered rather than remaining folded against the rubber body.
ETOL can customize the profile, compound and hardness. Trial the installation on a representative panel, including its finish. Use only an agreed assembly aid if one is needed; a sharp improvised tool can damage the retaining area.
After insertion, route the cable without dragging the part farther through the opening. Check the seated reference again once the lead is arranged. During inspection, look for a portion of the flange disappearing into the cutout, which may indicate incomplete seating or a dimensional mismatch. Correct that fit before the opening becomes inaccessible.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Access behind the opening may be needed to check that the lip has recovered rather than remaining folded against the rubber body. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
