Selected for the contact, temperature and movement
Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
A custom rubber plug for holes should follow the opening it closes, including the retaining or insertion geometry behind the visible face. Different holes in an assembly can require different profiles even when their entrances appear similar. Material, size, hardness, and color can be adapted to each position.
Check the surrounding thickness and usable depth. A retaining lip needs room to seat behind a panel, while an inserted stopper depends on the bore and its contact length. The exposed shape should leave access for the intended removal method.
Prepare the opening and fit the plug without folding its edge or forcing it against a hidden obstruction. Choose the compound for the actual contents and temperature. During servicing, keep removed variants separated by location and inspect their engaged regions before reuse. A replacement should reproduce the required complete profile rather than being selected solely by the visible diameter or the shape of a used part that has permanently distorted.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A retaining lip needs room to seat behind a panel, while an inserted stopper depends on the bore and its contact length. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
