Product Overview

A square rubber seal follows an angular contact path where a circular ring would not match the assembly. The custom outline can accommodate the opening and the available seating width, while the thickness is chosen around the closed joint. The corners are functional portions of the seal, not simply transitions between straight sides.

Fit the part without pulling the sides outward to make the corners reach. Stretching can narrow the cross section and create uneven contact when the cover is tightened. Corner radii should correspond to the receiving shape, leaving the seal supported rather than trapped against a sharp internal edge.

Before closing the assembly, confirm that all four sides lie flat and that any locating features are engaged. Tightening should bring the mating faces together evenly, especially where fasteners sit near the corners. Choose silicone or another suitable rubber compound for the actual environment. When inspecting a used seal, compare corner condition with the straight sections; a local fold or flattened turn can explain a problem that is not visible along the sides.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Before closing the assembly, confirm that all four sides lie flat and that any locating features are engaged.
Custom dimensions
The custom outline can accommodate the opening and the available seating width, while the thickness is chosen around the closed joint.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
