Product Overview

A flat silicone gasket can act as a sealing washer within a custom assembly. Its dimensions should match the center feature, outer support area, and space available between the mating parts. Once the joint closes, much of the gasket may be hidden, making initial positioning particularly useful.

Place the washer where its center opening aligns naturally with the intended feature. Check that the outer edge remains inside the supported area and that no section has folded underneath. If the mating part moves laterally during assembly, guide it so that it does not drag the silicone out of position.

Choose the formulation for the actual medium, temperature, and cleaning method. Thickness should follow the designed closing gap rather than being increased to conceal surface damage. During maintenance, inspect the seat and gasket together for signs of uneven contact. Remove deposits without scratching across the sealing path. Replace a washer that has torn or permanently changed shape with the matching profile, preserving the intended compression when the assembly is closed again.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. Thickness should follow the designed closing gap rather than being increased to conceal surface damage.
Custom dimensions
If the mating part moves laterally during assembly, guide it so that it does not drag the silicone out of position.
Fit & assembly
Place the washer where its center opening aligns naturally with the intended feature.
Use & inspection
During maintenance, inspect the seat and gasket together for signs of uneven contact.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
