A custom large oval grommet provides edge protection around an elongated opening sized for the intended cable route. ETOL can alter its size, material and color, allowing the oval outline to follow a particular panel design. The rubber keeps the routed items separated from the cut boundary.
For a larger opening, inspect the panel surface around the entire flange. A broad retaining region can reveal local panel bends or uneven thickness that are less apparent at a small hole. The grommet should follow the designed seating surface without being stretched across a distorted cutout.
Lay out the cable group before finalizing the inner space. Several cables may occupy the width comfortably but become crowded where they turn away from the opening. Arrange their supports so the weight and bend forces do not gather at one end of the oval.
Install the part progressively and inspect both long edges after the cables are in position. Do not compensate for a lifted section by packing extra material beneath it. Revisit the panel shape or grommet fit so the protective boundary remains continuous and stable during normal cable movement.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. Revisit the panel shape or grommet fit so the protective boundary remains continuous and stable during normal cable movement. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a through-hole or blind-hole profile, then compare the dimensions for your panel and cable arrangement.
