Product Overview

An access control keypad with carbon pills combines a molded rubber pressing surface with contact elements on the underside. It forms part of the user interface for entering commands or access codes. The layout, dimensions, color, and legends can be customized to the housing and circuit arrangement, with printed, raised, recessed, or colorfilled markings available as design options.

The carbon pills need to align with the corresponding contact areas throughout the assembled keypad. Key spacing on the front and contact positions on the back must therefore be developed together. A housing that shifts the rubber sheet or compresses one edge more than another can affect how individual keys move, even when the loose keypad looks symmetrical.

Consider the sequence of use as well as a single key press. Users may enter several digits rapidly, correct an entry, or operate a confirmation key at the edge of the layout. Each key should have room to move and return without dragging an adjacent key. Evaluate the actual enclosure, backing support, and fastener arrangement, including accessible edge presses.

Keep the carbon contact surfaces free from handling residue during assembly. On the exposed face, legends should remain unambiguous in their installed orientation, and cleaning should not leave deposits around the moving key edges. The finished access device determines electrical behavior and environmental protection; the rubber component must be integrated with that complete design.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
