Rubber firewall hole plugs close panel cutouts that are not needed for a cable or other passage. The custom rubber profile should locate securely in the opening, with dimensions and compound selected for the particular vehicle or equipment partition. The closed center and retaining perimeter work together to cover the hole.
Inspect the conditions on each side. A plug can be exposed to warmth or fluids on one face while the other remains sheltered. Choose the formulation for that complete environment and assess any fire-barrier requirement within the specified assembly; the location alone does not establish a fire rating.
The panel thickness and available flange space determine the fit. Keep projecting hardware clear of the rear center and remove burrs before insertion. Check that the perimeter remains engaged after nearby harness work is completed. During service, remove the plug without piercing it if reuse is intended. Replace a damaged closure or choose a designed cable entry when the opening's function changes, rather than cutting the existing plug and assuming its original protective role remains unchanged.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The custom rubber profile should locate securely in the opening, with dimensions and compound selected for the particular vehicle or equipment partition. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
