Rubber Grommet Blanking Plugs cover panel openings that are not currently used for wiring or another component. Their retained rubber form can provide a neat closure while preserving the original cutout for a planned assembly configuration. The chosen plug should suit the hole outline and the thickness of the material around it.
Consider how the opening will be accessed later. A closure hidden behind installed equipment may be difficult to remove without damage, so its fitting and removal sequence should be reviewed before surrounding parts block the area. Do not rely on pushing through the center with a sharp tool when access is limited.
Custom dimensions and color can suit the panel. Check that its flange lies freely, without another cover holding it down.
Inspect blanked openings during maintenance, especially after work near the panel. A loose edge can be easy to overlook on a dark enclosure. If an opening is later converted to a cable route, fit an entry designed for that cable rather than assuming a punctured blanking plug provides the same protective function.
