An FKM seal, whether a flat rubber ring or a round-section O-ring, must be specified by its actual section and dimensions as well as its formulation. A flat ring profile and a round section may require different groove shapes. Matching outside diameter alone can leave a seal that compresses incorrectly in the receiving joint.
Select the FKM formulation for the actual medium and operating conditions. A Viton-related material description does not establish universal chemical resistance or a single temperature limit for every ring. The joint's movement, support and fastening also influence the sealing duty.
Check the ring against its intended seat before closing the assembly. It should lie without a twist, stretched section or particle trapped beneath it. Evaluate the complete joint under its relevant service conditions. During replacement, keep the chosen material and new-part geometry associated with the application, rather than matching a deformed used ring whose original section may no longer be apparent after compression and exposure.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. The joint's movement, support and fastening also influence the sealing duty. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
Identify key dimensions, mating surfaces and quantity
Agree the compound and manufacturing approach
Review the fit and agreed requirements in the assembly
Manufacture and check against the approved requirements
Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.
Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.
Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.
Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
