Match the attachment and installation method
A rubber damper with metal screw attachment combines a compliant body with a fastening feature for a matching assembly. The screw positions and retains the part, while the rubber is intended to accommodate the movement defined by the mounting design. Installation should preserve that relationship without winding the rubber body into a twist.
Use the intended method to engage the metal fastening feature. Turning against resistance through the flexible body can distort the part or stress the junction with the hardware. Check the mating thread, available engagement and surrounding clearance before tightening so the screw does not bottom out unexpectedly.
The assembly's response depends on the body geometry, compound and applied movement; the name does not describe a hydraulic mechanism or establish a specific damping value. Evaluate the part in its installed orientation. During servicing, inspect the rubber near the screw for tearing or separation and check the fastener independently for loosening. A secure thread cannot restore the intended function of a damaged compliant body.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. The screw positions and retains the part, while the rubber is intended to accommodate the movement defined by the mounting design. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a connection type, then compare body dimensions and metric threads. D, H and L are in millimeters; H excludes projecting studs. The M designation identifies the metric thread.
157 sizes with a male stud at each end. Compare body diameter D, body height H, thread size and projecting stud length L.
