Product Overview

A silicone rubber button keypad for telephone use provides the physical controls for a defined dialing and function layout. The molded key positions and exposed surfaces should suit the way the telephone is held or placed during use. Custom dimensions and color allow the keypad to follow the housing design.

Assess dialing sequences in the normal operating position. The user should be able to move between keys without an enclosure edge obstructing the finger. Keys close to the side of a handset or panel can be approached differently from those at the center. The spacing and height should make each intended target clear while preserving free travel.

The keypad needs accurate support over the switching arrangement beneath it. Check that enclosure fastening does not hold any button partly down and that adjacent keys remain independent during operation. The rubber component and circuit together determine the input behavior; material softness alone does not define it.

During assembly, keep the underside free of residue and position the sheet on all its locating features. Cleaning in service should preserve the movement clearance around each key. If a button begins to catch, inspect its seating and surrounding deposits rather than pressing more firmly to compensate for a mechanical restriction.

Material options
Silicone. Custom formulation and color for the intended contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A. The rubber component and circuit together determine the input behavior; material softness alone does not define it.
Custom dimensions
The spacing and height should make each intended target clear while preserving free travel.
Fit & assembly

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
