A silicone rubber grommet for a food related application should have a defined contact role within the equipment. The formulation and finished part need assessment for the substance, temperature, and cleaning process they will encounter. A component outside the product path may have different requirements from one directly contacting that path, even when their shapes are similar.
Match the outer profile to the receiving opening and the inner region to the component passing through. Check how the entry is accessed during cleaning or replacement so the rubber does not need to be stretched from a narrow edge. Keep the retaining surface smooth and consistently supported.
Fit without trapped material beneath the lip and inspect the complete seat before closing the equipment. During care, check for residue or deterioration around both interfaces. Replace the intended specification if the part no longer recovers its proper shape. Any sealing requirement belongs to the complete entry assessment, including the mating surfaces and the component that occupies the passage.
Photos illustrate structure or material only. A component outside the product path may have different requirements from one directly contacting that path, even when their shapes are similar. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
