Rubber chair tips need an internal seat suited to the material and shape of the leg they cover. A hollow metal tube, a solid wooden leg and a formed end present different supporting surfaces inside the rubber.
Inspect the actual end face. A hollow tube may concentrate contact around its wall, while a solid end can bear across a broader area. Any sharp seam or irregular cut needs attention through the chair's maintenance method before the tip is fitted. The rubber base should not be expected to conceal an unfinished or damaged end.
Choose the cavity depth so the intended supporting surface reaches its proper position. Do not pack the socket to make another leg type fit, since filler changes how force reaches the base. Material selection should also suit contact with the leg finish.
During later inspection, look for a wear pattern corresponding to the concealed end. Recurring cuts in that pattern call for examination of the leg itself. A replacement should reproduce the correct internal seat as well as its floor-facing shape.

FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Compare inside diameter A with the outside of the part being covered. Check inside depth C and overall dimensions B and D for available clearance. These RSE references show a round cap with one closed end.
43 closed-end cap sizes. A is the inside diameter and C is the usable internal depth; B and D describe the outside envelope.

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
