A rubber foot for cutting boards with a metal washer feature provides a defined fastening area beneath the board. The washer and rubber should work with the chosen screw so the foot remains attached without exposing hard hardware as the contact surface. The board material also determines the appropriate fastening depth.
Check that the washer seats in its intended position and does not cut into the rubber when tightened. An overlong screw can extend farther into the board than intended, while insufficient engagement may let the foot loosen during washing or handling. The installed set should keep the board steady when pressure is applied near different edges.
Consider the complete assembly's cleaning requirements, including the metal and any recess around it. The presence of rubber does not establish food-contact or dishwasher suitability. Clean and dry the underside so residue does not remain around the attachments. Replace a foot if the washer becomes exposed, the rubber splits or the fastening no longer keeps the board resting securely on its intended contact faces.
