T-shape silicone rubber grommets use a profile with a wider shoulder and a narrower section that enters the mating opening. The shoulder's relationship to the panel face should be defined along with the insertion dimensions. This helps the part reach its intended position without leaving a raised edge that can be caught by nearby wiring or hardware.
Check the opening, panel thickness, and available depth behind it. The inner passage should suit the cable or component in its finished condition. If the T profile must pass through a restricted installation route, include the temporary deformation required to reach the final seat.
Install with the shoulder lying evenly against its intended surface. Avoid using a sharp tool beneath the flange to force alignment. Route the cable afterward and inspect whether it pulls on one side of the wider section. During maintenance, look for tears where the profile changes width, and correct any sharp mating edge before fitting a replacement into the same opening.
