A rubber eyelet grommet creates a flexible passage in a panel opening. Nitrile and silicone are material choices to assess for the intended environment, while the eyelet's bore and retaining profile must still match the cable and panel independently of that choice.
ETOL customizes dimensions, hardness and color around the selected construction. Compare the finished opening and cable covering before considering a material substitution. A similar molded outline does not ensure that insertion and recovery will feel identical in another compound.
Seat the eyelet without pulling through its center and check that the retaining groove remains engaged after the cable is introduced. Evaluate the chosen material with the actual fluids, cleaning agents and temperature exposure at the entry. During maintenance, inspect for a changed fit as well as visible damage. If a replacement compound is used, repeat the assembly assessment rather than relying on the previous material's behavior. Keep the cable supported so the eyelet is not asked to hold its weight or correct a sharply offset route.
