Product Overview

Rubber grommets and bushings can provide different interfaces within a custom assembly. A grommet commonly retains around an opening edge, while a bushing may occupy a deeper supported bore. Define the selected component's actual role so the outside fit and inner passage are chosen around the contact it will receive.

Measure the receiving feature, usable depth, and adjoining faces. Silicone selection should reflect the local environment and the movement expected at the interface. Where the component is intended to cushion or isolate a joint, assess that function using the complete load path rather than the rubber shape alone.

Install in line with the receiving feature and avoid trapping a flange beneath a sharp edge. Check the inner clearance after the outer surface is seated, since the installed fit can differ from the loose part. During service, inspect the contact region that carries the actual movement or load. A replacement should restore that interface rather than being selected solely because its visible flange resembles the removed component.

Material options
Custom silicone or rubber formulation, with dimensions and color adapted to the mating component.
Hardness range
Silicone: 20–80 Shore A; rubber: 30–90 Shore A. Assess the grade against this fit requirement: Where the component is intended to cushion or isolate a joint, assess that function using the complete load path rather than the rubber shape alone.

Choose a profile to compare part numbers and dimensions. Inch and metric sizes are listed in separate tables.

Type D Round Grommets in Inches

274 entries for Type D round through-hole grommets. Original fractions are retained, and exactly equivalent standard inch fractions replace decimal values where possible. Other values remain decimal inches.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
