Selected for the contact, temperature and movement
Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
A silicone rubber plug should provide a closure that can be handled through the access available in the finished assembly. A bung with a suitable body fit may still be difficult to remove if its head sits too close to adjacent walls or hardware. The exposed portion should therefore be developed alongside the receiving opening.
Custom dimensions, hardness and color allow the geometry to match the product. Define the intended seating depth and evaluate any sealing requirement using the complete mating component.
Check fitting and removal after neighboring parts are installed. Avoid levering against the sealing body with a sharp tool or stretching only one thin edge to free the plug. Keep the contact surfaces clean before reinsertion. During inspection, look for tearing at the gripping region as well as damage around the body. If removal repeatedly deforms the head, review the available access and fit resistance instead of treating the same handling damage as normal wear.
Photos illustrate structure or material appearance only. A bung with a suitable body fit may still be difficult to remove if its head sits too close to adjacent walls or hardware. ETOL directly manufactures custom-shaped silicone and rubber parts to your requirements.
FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
