Selected for the contact, temperature and movement
Define the visible surfaces and intended color
Develop holes, lips and walls around the mating parts
Match the attachment and installation method
Custom silicone rubber stoppers close small openings with a body and head adapted to the available space. The inserted section should match the hole's working surface, while the upper area provides a stopping and handling function. The joining region between these features can experience strain during installation and removal.
Place the stopper straight into a clean opening and apply force through the intended face. A sharp hole edge or a removal tool beneath a thin head can damage the stem transition even when the exposed surface still looks acceptable. Establish a practical removal method before finalizing the head dimensions. Select the silicone formulation and hardness for the actual contact medium, temperature, and handling frequency. After removal, inspect the less visible body and underside of the head before any intended reuse. A replacement should reach the same seated position without being forced deeper to compensate for a dimensional mismatch or damage to the receiving opening.

FIND THE RIGHT FIT
Choose a blind-hole, tapered, undercut or solid T-shaped profile, then compare its dimensions with the opening and available seating depth. Each profile has its own drawing and dimension meanings.
155 T-shaped plug sizes. Match shank diameter A, head diameter B, shank length C and head thickness D. E is the bottom blind-hole diameter; E = 0 indicates a solid shank.
