Product Overview

Custom stoppers address openings that do not suit a standard round plug. An unusual bore, limited insertion depth or restricted space above the opening may call for a different head and sealing profile. ETOL can develop the geometry from a drawing or sample, with material, hardness and color chosen around the application.

The most useful drawing shows the plug inside its mating component. Mark where contact is intended and where clearance must remain. A stepped opening may need the plug to stop at a shoulder, while a shallow opening may leave little length for engagement. Include the tolerances of the mating part so the trial does not depend on one especially tight or loose sample.

Decide how the stopper will be removed. A broad head can provide access for fingers, but it also needs room beside surrounding features. For frequent opening, test insertion and removal as part of the normal routine instead of checking only whether a new plug can be pushed into place. Any exposure to liquids or cleaning agents belongs in the material review.

Check the first samples on representative components and inspect the contact section after removal for folding or cuts. Keep the accepted fitted sample with the final drawing, especially when the original reference was worn. This gives future orders a defined shape and fit rather than an instruction to reproduce the condition of an old part.

Material options
Rubber compound options, customized alongside the profile and contact conditions.
Hardness selection
Solid rubber options: 30–90 Shore A. For frequent opening, test insertion and removal as part of the normal routine instead of checking only whether a new plug can be pushed into place.
Custom geometry
A stepped opening may need the plug to stop at a shoulder, while a shallow opening may leave little length for engagement.
Fit evaluation
ETOL can develop the geometry from a drawing or sample, with material, hardness and color chosen around the application.
Color & OEM
Custom colors; OEM identification positioned outside closure contact surfaces.

Working conditions

Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.

Material and structure

Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.

Installation

Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.

Ordering this custom component

Can the shape be adjusted to my mating parts?

Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.

Which details should be agreed before tooling?

Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.

Can a sample help define the replacement?

A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.

How is the quotation for this part determined?

The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
