Customized durable silicone function keypads/automotive switch buttons

Automotive switch buttons need a molded profile that operates freely within the installed trim. Durability depends on the selected formulation, geometry and actual contact conditions, including any rubbing at the opening. A long-lasting material description does not eliminate wear caused by an incorrectly matched panel fit.

Check the button's rest height, travel and underlying actuator position in the complete control. The trim should hold locating features without pressing into a moving section. Evaluate the material for the local temperature and cleaning exposure rather than assuming a universal automotive capability.
