O-ring material selection for silicone rubber and Viton seals should account for the service medium and temperature as well as the joint geometry. Silicone and FKM options may be considered for different conditions, but rings with similar dimensions should remain identified by their intended formulation. A color or general rubber appearance is not a reliable basis for swapping materials during maintenance.
Compare the section size and installed diameter with the groove and mating clearance. Include the movement of the joint, if any, and the pressure direction that acts on the ring. The selected compound must work within that supported space rather than being stretched into an improvised seat.
Keep rings clean and separated by specification before assembly. Protect their surfaces from threads and sharp steps, and position them without twist. After removing a used ring, inspect the adjoining hardware for the cause of cuts or extrusion. If the operating fluid or cleaning process changes, revisit material suitability before continuing to use the previous ring solely because its dimensions remain correct.

Identify key dimensions, mating surfaces and quantity
Agree the compound and manufacturing approach
Review the fit and agreed requirements in the assembly
Manufacture and check against the approved requirements
Identify temperature, contact fluids and repeated movement.
Consider hardness together with wall thickness and support.
Check access, mating dimensions and the fitting sequence.
Yes. Show the receiving opening, contact surfaces and clearance limits. We can review the dimensions and retaining features around the intended fit.
Agree the critical dimensions, material, hardness, visible surfaces and sample requirements. Explain how the part is installed and which interfaces control its function.
A sample can help explain the structure. Compare it with the assembly because wear, swelling or compression may have changed its original dimensions.
The material, part geometry, tooling, quantity and finishing affect the quotation. Include the intended batch size and delivery destination when describing your requirements.
