A micro USB rubber cap covers a small connector opening when the port is unused. The custom profile should fit the housing around the port and leave the connector itself free from unintended pressure. The cover's seated position needs to be defined by its intended mating surfaces, not by forcing its body against the socket.
Check access in both closed and open conditions. Users need enough exposed grip to remove the cap, and the opened cover must leave room for the actual cable plug to enter fully. If the design includes a retaining connection, consider its bend and location so that it does not push the inserted cable sideways.
Remove loose particles before closing the opening; pressing a dusty cover into place can carry debris toward the port. A protective cap does not by itself establish the environmental rating of the electronic product. Inspect for a damaged lip or a cover that no longer remains engaged, especially after repeated opening. Correct the fitted condition rather than relying on the cap's presence alone as evidence that the port is protected.
