Silicone rubber mounts with metal parts can be molded in different shapes to connect the compliant section with the assembly's rigid attachment points. The metal interfaces should establish location and fastening, while the silicone geometry provides the intended deformation space. A special outer shape needs to support that relationship.
Define the metal features, working load direction and nearby clearances before choosing the rubber profile. Offset attachments can introduce rotation as well as compression, so the complete mount should be assessed in its actual orientation. Custom dimensions and material options allow the part to follow those requirements.
During fitting, make sure the metal interfaces align without forcing the rubber into a permanent lean. Evaluate the assembly with all washers, sleeves or brackets that contact the mount. Inspect whether any rigid feature restricts the region meant to flex. After representative use, examine the boundaries between rubber and metal for damage or displacement. If one area repeatedly deforms more than expected, review the attachment alignment and load path before changing only silicone hardness.
